We, as humans, have been using theatre for thousands of years to help formulate a better understanding of our world. Theatre is the bridge that links the inner, most intimate, parts of ourselves to the outer, most extrinsic, parts of ourselves. It is one of the major ways we attempt to cope with and understand the world at large, while simultaneously striving to better understand one’s true nature. Theatre, in its self, is an abstraction of human behavior and therefore provides a powerful reflection of who/where we truly are as individuals and a society. It is an essential part of our culture that is currently scarce. I believe that the general lack of theatre, especially new works, directly correlates with the current state of confusion and paranoia we’re facing right now as a society. My current mission, as the Executive Director of Atlantic City Theatre Company, is to generate an awareness for the cultural need of theatre performance and education. I cannot dream of a better place to begin this journey than Atlantic City, New Jersey. I have been deeply affected by this great city and hope I can impact the area as much as the area has impacted me. Together, with your support, we will rejuvenate live theatre performance and theatre education in Atlantic City.
